Our mission at Sonrise Automotive is to provide a valuable service for our customers in the Islip community and surrounding areas. In addition, Sonrise Automotive operates with a high level of integrity bringing glory to God and setting a standard of excellence in the automotive after-market industry.

Purpose Statement

Our purpose at Sonrise Automotive is to provide quality goods and services to our customers in a timely fashion, using fair and honest pricing and standing behind those goods and services for a reasonable period of time.

Company History

After working in the automotive industry since the age of 10(!), John had an innovative idea to offer people an alternative to traditional auto repair options and began Excel Tech Mobile Repair Corporation in the spring of 1995. He acquired a 12 foot step van (an ice cream truck), installed an air compressor, work benches, tools and diagnostic equipment. That summer and winter he traveled to customer’s homes or business to service and/or repair their vehicles. The winter of 1995/96, had record breaking freezing temperatures and over 106″ of snow! We began praying that God would open the doors to a location with a roof, any location!

God had a wonderful plan! In May, 1996, God opened the flood gates of heaven. A friend told us about a Texaco station in Islip. Financial backing came from a totally unexpected source and we opened for business in October, 1996. In February of 2000 after making it over the Y2K scare, Texaco informed us they would be leaving Long Island and we would have to move. We prayed and looked. Once again we experienced a miracle and God opened the door for us to buy what is now Sonrise Automotive.
